Clare
Nugent
Clare
is a former nanny who has recently been awarded an MEd Early
Education from the University of Edinburgh. She has previously
worked in primary and secondary education in England, specialising
in Design Technology and Outdoor Education.
Clare is
also the proprietor of Busy Bananas, an activity based parent
and toddler group, and is the mother of two young children.

Fraser
Sanderson
Fraser
Sanderson was born in Glasgow but brought up and educated in Stranraer.
Following Glasgow University, he returned to teach at Stranraer
Academy in 1970. His teaching career took him to Alloa as Principal
Teacher of English, Sanquhar Academy as Depute Headteacher and
to the post of Headteacher at Dalbeattie High School.
After
spells as Senior Adviser in Education to Dumfries and Galloway
Council and as Assistant Director, he was appointed Director of
Education in 1998 - from which post he retired in July 2007. A
long-term member of the Council and, latterly, the Board of Learning
and Teaching Scotland as well as of the Council of GTC Scotland,
he was President of the Association of Directors of Education
in Scotland in 2004-05

Isabel
Dunn
Isabel
is the manager of a nursery in Blantyre. She has been involved
with SPPA since her son was born 25 years ago, firstly as a committee
member of her local playgroup, then a member of the local SPPA
branch, and latterly as an area organiser employed by SPPA.
Isabel
is qualified to SVQ Level 4 Early Years, and has experience of
serving on local childcare partnerships.

Monica
has worked in human resource management and investment management,
and is now the Managing Director of Prime Time Nurseries Ltd.
She
is also Director of Lothian Community Services Organisations and
has been a trustee of the Edinburgh Voluntary Organisations Trust
for the past seven years.

Barbara
Orr
Barbara
is Head of School for Childcare, Education and Health at Glasgow
College of Nautical Studies, and manages the team who
deliver courses in Early Years Care and Health Studies.
Her
involvement in SPPA goes back many years to when she was a playgroup
leader.

Alice
Sharp
Alice
has worked in the early years sector for the past 17 years. She
has taught in nursery schools, additional needs schools, primary
schools and lectured in further education.
She
has published extensively in national early years journals and
has written three books. She continues to work with Nursery World
and the TES on a variety of articles, discussion and seminars.
She
is now the managing director of Experiential Play, an innovative
and passionate team of ten staff who develop and deliver in-service
and conference training all over Great Britain and abroad. Wonderbox,
the second company which Alice set up, develops and sells a range
of exciting and stimulating early years resources.

Niall
Shaw
Although
his vocational background is predominantly in the construction
industry, Niall has undertaken a variety of voluntary work in
his local area and has an interest in children’s pre-school
development.
Niall is particularly interested in areas of SPPA business activities
such as Child Protection, Health and Safety and Finance, and also
has a keen interest in the future marketing of the Charity as
a brand name, and how it will be financed in the coming years.

Matheson
Marion
qualified as a nursery nurse in 1997 and is currently the manager
of Saoghal Beag Nursery in North Uist.
She
is a member of the local childcare partnership, representing all
day care provision.

Lesley
Boyle
Lesley
is a fully qualified accountant working in the manufacturing sector.
She has previously worked as a primary school teacher and has
been involved with various youth and children’s groups.
