The Earlier the Better: Improving children's life chances through early intervention

Research shows that positive early intervention for children can yield significant improvements in cognitive, academic, and social outcomes. Getting early intervention right is crucial to breaking the cycle of many of the social problems in Britain. Economic studies suggest that the returns on early investment in children during the pre-birth period and up to the age of eight years are high, but reduce the later the investment is initiated.

This event will look at the importance of early intervention.
