Big Birthday Bash closes celebrations in style

15O children from SPPA member groups enjoyed SPPA’s 40th Birthday Bash held recently at Our Dynamic Earth in Edinburgh. The event was the final celebration in the calendar of events to mark SPPA’s 40th anniversary year.

The afternoon was filled with numerous activities for the children including face painting, construction toys, parachute games, crafts, modelling with dough, storytelling with puppets, den building, sand and water play, a dressing up area, a soft play cube area, brio train areas, outside games and puzzles, and a magician.

The education service at Our Dynamic Earth provided a Dinosaur Dig, in which
a velociraptor skeleton was placed in a pit and covered in sand, and the children shown how archaeologists would excavate it. There were also dinosaur puppets, and dinosaur bones and skulls for the children to play with.
